How to Be a Psychic Spy, Event 3 - The Events, Derren Brown - Channel 4 Inspired by the CIA's top secret Stargate Project, Brown conducted a nationwide experiment in remote viewing - the ability to see and describe an object that is hidden from view. The curator of the Science Museum was asked to paint a simple picture on a canvas, which she then covered over and placed on display in the Science Museum for one week, where visitors could draw what they thought was on the canvas. Brown repeated this with an audience in the museum and viewers at home. The four main things both the visitors and audience drew were: trains, Stonehenge, horses and concentric circles. Near the end of the show it emerged that between 30% to 35% of people drew some form of concentric circles, this was then revealed as the design painted on the canvas. In an additional twist, the next most common drawing was of Stonehenge (around 10%), and it was revealed that the painter, who had been at a secret location for the duration of the show, was actually at Stonehenge. Additionally, the painter cited Stonehenge as an image that she was imagining to convey the abstract drawing of concentric circles. At the end of the show, Brown revealed that the show was recorded three weeks previously, and that he had arranged for adverts influencing people to draw concentric circles to be placed in major newspapers on the day of transmission. Details of where to find these adverts were then given. There was also a subtle technique used during the programme to encourage people to draw concentric circles. No explanation was given as to why many thought that the painting would be of horses or trains.

biological computers - DNA pictures

Scientists from the Scripps Research Institute and Technion–Israel Institute of Technology have taken biological computing one step further, with a new molecular machine capable of decoding images stored on a DNA chip. Though it's referred to as a "biological computer," the researchers' machine isn't much like a CPU at all -- unless your CPU was manufactured in a test tube filled with a smoothie of DNA molecules, enzymes and ATP. Once they found the right mix, the team proceeded to encrypt images on a DNA chip and used their Turing machine-like creation to decode them, with fluorescent stains helping to track its progress. The above image, read from left to right, gives a more literal idea of what the system can do -- basically, it takes a hidden image and extracts a given sequence. Storing data on DNA isn't anything new, but decrypting said data in this fashion apparently is. The applications for this kind of organic computing remain a bit fuzzy, but it's pretty clear that whatever follows probably won't look anything like a typical computer. The team's findings were recently published in a paper for the journal Angewandte Chemie, the abstract for which is linked below. For a slightly more readable explanation, check out the full press release after the break. "We are biological computers with ram and a hard drive. Ram is the present and the hard drive is the past. In hindsight is where the human experience evokes its self. It is when we pull from that hard drive that we experience consensus in the sense that what we pull is imperfect and we have to fill in the blanks with either truth or with our own make believe. It is that difference that makes life magical or devastating." DUDE12NOTHIN

This Is Our Reality - YouTube

I am Dom0ne One of 7 billion people on a beautiful yet inconsequential rock I'm an evolutionary product It's a saddening proposition to say that People need religion to have worth and value This is the reality of our existence And whether you like it or not We are destined to continue on this path This world is awash with selfserving, tribal intolerances but We will arrest these vestigial, Bronze Age constructs in the future I refuse to accept that Children's minds will continue to be indoctrinated with divisiveness People will always place hope above reality and Faith will surpass scientific endeavour I know this will be the case because I understand human psychology Humanities focus will continue to shift And rationale will shine light on those that wish to worship pretense The human race has a path of enlightened optimism ahead I would be lying if I said that Religious ideolgy will invariably triumph over humanism If we take the time to look at life with honesty This Is Our Reality Inspired by "This Is The Truth"

10 Convicts Presumed Innocent After Execution

English jurist William Blackstone once said, “Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer.” Even lawyers are indoctrinated with this concept early in law school. Whether you support with the death penalty or not, most individuals would agree with the statement above. Despite the United State’s innocent-until-proven-guilty legal system, there are several cases where a presumably innocent person is convicted of a crime, some even put to death. Sadly, we may never get a chance to find out the truth. The recent inclusion of DNA evidence in trials has been used in some cases to clear many people falsely convicted. There are ten recent cases of people who are now presumed, but not proven, to be innocent and one bonus inclusion.

Godspeed You Black Emperor - The Dead Flag Blues - YouTube

This life that I live. Freedom. Not a choice, it is a fantasy born from hope. a hope that is not for us but for a child. We are the last hopes. the last strain for a dream. how far have we been that we cannot see reality but through the lens of capture. alone we awake.

A Thriller About the 'Weird Loneliness of the Internet' - Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg - Video

The short film Internet Story is a tale of mystery and suspense, set in the bizarre world of online message boards and YouTube videos. The story begins when an anonymous Internet user creates an elaborate, puzzle-ridden treasure hunt based on an old Chaucer story. I won't ruin the ending, but I'll say that as the video went viral recently, viewers around the world were left Googling clues for answers.

ALEXA MEADE \\ PORTFOLIO Real Picture of People but painted to look 2-d

'via Blog this'

Rather than creating representational paintings on a flat canvas, Alexa Meade creates her representational paintings directly on top of the physical subjects that she is referencing. When photographed, the representational painting and the subject being referenced appear to be one and the same as the 3D space of her painted scenes becomes optically compressed into a 2D plane.

Declaration of the Occupation of New York City As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies. As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage. They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses. They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation. They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization. They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices. They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions. They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right. They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay. They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility. They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance. They have sold our privacy as a commodity. They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit. They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce. They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them. They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil. They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit. They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit. They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media. They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt. They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas. They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.* To the people of the world, We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power. Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone. To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal. Join us and make your voices heard! *These grievances are not all-inclusive.

A song to start your weekend off depressed...

Cemetery Drive Lyrics
Artist(Band):My Chemical Romance

This night, walk the dead
In a solitary style
And crash the cemetery gates.
In the dress your husband hates
Way down, mark the grave
Where the search lights find us
Drinking by the mausoleum door
And they found you on the bathroom floor

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

Back home, off the run
Singing songs that make you slit your wrists
It isn't that much fun, staring down a loaded gun
So I won't stop dying, won't stop lying (are you there at all?)
If you want I'll keep on crying (do you care at all?)
Did you get what you deserve? (are you there at all?)
Is this what you always want me for?

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

When will I miss you, when will I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard
Made it so hard

Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down...
